The 12 Tribes of Israel originated with the 12 sons of the ancient Patriarch Jacob, whose name was changed to ISRAEL by God when he demonstrated his faithfulness. See a fuller explanation HERE.
These tribes started as family and as siblings, but a division happened in ancient times over a dispute about their ruler and his dictates, so 10 Tribes went north into Samaria, were ultimately scattered by Assyria and became “lost” to history, now called the Lost 10 Tribes.
The two remaining tribes were Judah and the much smaller Benjamin. They remained together and were later taken into captivity by Babylon. They are our modern-day Jewish people.
Reuniting these tribes and restoring the House of Israel is one of the greatest events we can look forward to – and we help it along!
